July 4th at  Neal & Dian's

July 4th  Parade

July 2nd.  Well we had a great time out at John and Lou  Clarkes.  As usual your Daddy had a great idea. One evening over dinner with Joe Joyer and his wife, he was explaining that the injured soldiers from the Iraq were coming in on a Sunday for the July 4th parade and he would take them out to eat. We explained that there was nothing much open on Sunday and suggested that we cook for the soldiers. As you can see it grew just a little; first were going to have the dinner in our back yard; then at Joe's; then John and Lou Clarke said why not out at their ranch in the country;  That sounded wonderful so we did and I think it was a great success. With a lot of help, we provided a chuck wagon meal that all enjoyed. Look at the pictures and see for your self.

June 19  thru June 22nd We went to visit Bill and Sharron  Fulton and we had a great Italian dinner.  Just  down the street from Bill and Sharron's house is a huge field of very beautiful corn ready to be picked; But we just took some pictures. The next day we left for Austin .  One evening we went to the Congress Bridge where every evening the Bats fly out to find their supper (bugs).  We ended up in a bar, B.D Riley's, where they had a trivia game; we had a lot of fun with that.

Fathers day  I did not take to many pictures did not want to get the camera wet but we had a great time:)

June 2nd. Walk for Life is a fund raiser for cancer. Several organizations volunteer to walk from 6pm until 6am at the football field to remember those who have gone before us with cancer and to honor those who survived.

The organization we volunteered to walk with is the American Volunteer Reserve. (AVR) We raised the flag and walked through the night to support and raise money for the American Cancer Society. They raised over $84,000.000.
